The European Commission’s EUDR overview identifies cocoa as one of the commodities covered by the regulation. Other covered commodities include cattle, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soy, and wood, along with certain derived products.

A practical automation workflow should move each supplier or shipment through defined stages. Every stage should have a clear owner, a completion rule, and an escalation path.

Geolocation alone does not prove that cocoa is deforestation-free. The importer needs evidence that supports the risk conclusion for the relevant plots and production period.
