Reply-aware automation watches for new inbound messages connected to an active outreach sequence. When a message arrives, it identifies the sender, associates the message with the correct contact and campaign, classifies the reply, and applies a predefined action.
Keyword matching can identify obvious phrases such as “unsubscribe” or “out of office,” but it is not enough for reliable routing. Prospects express the same intent in many ways.
Every human-written reply should at least pause the sequence until it is classified. Some automated messages, such as delivery notifications, may not require a permanent stop, but they should be filtered before any further email is sent.
