Not all signals deserve equal weight. The system should assign each signal a strength based on the source, wording, participants, and relationship to the sales process.
The safest implementation uses a stage transition policy. This policy defines what can happen automatically, what requires approval, and what must be rejected.
It can, but direct updates should be limited to clearly defined, low-risk transitions with strong evidence. For important stages such as Negotiation, Closed Won, and Closed Lost, the safer pattern is to create a recommendation and require approval.
