Article 50 introduces transparency obligations for certain AI systems that interact with people, generate or manipulate content, infer sensitive characteristics, or produce synthetic media. The exact duty depends on what the system does and how the output is used.
Many businesses know about their main website chatbot but do not have a complete list of customer-facing AI. A compliance inventory should cover systems purchased from vendors, built internally, embedded in SaaS tools, or quietly activated by a marketing or support team.
A useful automation design separates the compliance decision from the delivery channel. The same policy engine can decide that disclosure is required, while different channel adapters deliver the notice in a way that makes sense for the customer experience.
