Progressive qualification is the practice of collecting customer information in stages. The bot begins with a low-friction question, observes the visitor's behavior and answers, then asks a more specific question only when it is relevant.

Intent signals are clues that help the bot estimate what a visitor wants and how ready they are to speak with sales. Some signals come directly from the conversation. Others come from website behavior and existing business systems.

A practical qualification flow should use a small number of stages. Each stage should have a clear purpose and a stopping rule.
